Chloe is now a rising sophomore at UC Berkeley where she was named a Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholar for the class of 2024. The prestigious award is given to the top one percent of applicants and symbolizes exceptional leadership, creativity, community service, and academic achievements. Chloe has already found ways to utilize her passions and talents to help others and hopes that her time at Berkeley will result in further meaningful engagement with her community.

Those who know Chloe know that her primary passion is music and performance. She recently won Sonoma County’s “Stars of Tomorrow” talent competition and she established herself as a recording artist in 2020 when she released an EP. In high school, Chloe became a street performer to raise over $4,000 for a Rwandan student that needed funding for boarding school. She also founded and instructed a summer music program at the Boys and Girls Clubs in Sonoma and Napa county.

Chloe’s talent for being an entrepreneur is evident from the many other organizations she has founded, including the Entrepreneurship Club at her high school. When the Tubbs fire of 2017 raged through California, Chloe wanted to find a way to help the families she saw struggling. Hence she created FamilyConnect, a platform that facilitates the networking and matching of families so they can exchange hand-me-downs or donations. Chloe also inspired the creation of “The Girl Effect” scholarship in Sonoma County which awards female students who are also entrepreneurs. Her support for other women extends to the Girls Leadership organization in Oakland where Chloe is an intern and strives to inspire young girls to harness their leadership skills.

Chloe is studying business and data science at Berkeley, where she is also involved with the local Girls Leadership Institute and the school’s music magazine, B-Side. She is looking forward to the school’s lively scene post-Covid and continuing to write and record music.
