We are searching for qualified candidates to join our team as Director of Human Resources.   The hands-on position is located in our Seattle office and will have responsibility for directly overseeing and executing Freestone’s HR, Benefits, Recruiting and Corporate Events activities.   Successful candidates for this position will have strong HR experience and a can-do attitude with a willingness to roll up their sleeves and excel in a collegial, fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support management’s commitment to excellence by providing thoughtful HR direction, advice and counsel

  • Centralize, professionalize and administer Freestone’s firm-wide recruiting efforts across all locations, including expanding our on-campus presence and staff diversity initiatives.

  • Build upon the firm’s efforts to professionalize and systematize our existing hiring and termination processes and practices, including organizing, carrying out and improving all aspects of the firm’s recruiting and hiring activities

  • Own all new employee on-boarding and terminating off-boarding, including orientations, training and exit interviews.

  • Manage employee relations and recommend disciplinary action, if necessary

  • Perform comparative compensation analysis vs. benchmarks to ensure Freestone is achieving desired market competitiveness.

  • Administer annual performance management process and systems

  • Ensure firm compliance with all existing local, state and federal legal requirements, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Act, the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation and others

  • Organize and execute the firm’s community involvement initiatives (small/medium scale)

  • Plan and execute the firm’s corporate events (e.g. annual all-firm retreat, holiday party)

  • Own all aspects of benefits administration (insurance, 401(k), PTO), including managing vendor/broker relationships.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in human resources or related field

  • At least 10 years of experience in human resources

  • Familiar with the labor market, labor laws, and hour and wage regulations

  • Able to handle highly sensitive matters at all levels of the firm with discretion and confidentiality

  • Strong problem-solving and research skills

  • Capacity to learn and excel at day-to-day responsibilities and contribute to driving process improvement, standardization and automation

  • Capable of anticipating and reacting quickly to the evolving labor regulatory environment

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and attention to detail
