Jesse Houchens, JD

Jesse is a Director on Freestone’s Legal Team and joined the firm in 2025. He advises on Freestone’s private funds and alternative investments, including private equity, energy, and real estate. In addition, he supports the firm’s business objectives and compliance initiatives involving corporate governance, contractual, regulatory, and other matters. Before joining Freestone, Jesse advised emerging and established companies and investors on mergers and acquisitions, financings, and other strategic transactions at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, P.C. and Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. Before private practice, he served as a law clerk to Vice Chancellor J. Travis Laster on the Delaware Court of Chancery. Earlier in his career, he taught high school math with Teach for America in Hartford, Connecticut.
